Welcome to the detailed and colorful world of engineers. Producing engineering products out of a home office is a laudable task in and of itself. Most freelancing engineers soon find that business and marketing language adds different dynamics to the whole job. Complex marketing solutions for funding seem somewhat elusive for a majority of engineers, but characteristic tenacity often wins in the end. Realistically speaking, freelancing can also add a lot of focus and motivation for the engineering specialist who works on personally created ideas every day.
